In Restoration, McCartney reflects on his twenty-five years as an artist, marked by discovery, resilience, and the transformative power of materials. From the wood of demolished houses to discarded cardboard and collected buttons, each piece holds a story, a history that resonates with the act of creation.

Repetition and optical properties serve as central themes throughout his work. Complex layering of materials builds visual complexity and embodies the restoration of the discarded into something meaningful.

My work echos the broader human experience of finding beauty in what is overlooked or forgotten.

McCartney also creates jewelry with his found objects and the exhibit features pieces that utilize both precious and non-precious materials, challenging conventional notions of beauty and value in jewelry. “This collection showcases how scale and unexpected materials can redefine what the viewer sees as beauty,” commented Tracy Saucier, Executive Director.
